Our goal is to help families navigate the health care system more efficiently by optimizing collaboration and care coordination with Washington University School of Medicine’s subspecialty providers, therapists and home care services.  We aim to help achieve the best possible health outcomes for patients that frequently have a range of complex medical needs and diagnoses that require both acute and chronic care.

We are available to our patients five days a week for well-child care, advanced assessment and management at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. We are happy to provide primary care to siblings of our patients. We welcome referrals for patients up to 14 years of age who do not currently have a primary care provider (PCP) to assist in the coordination and management of their complex medical needs.

To be eligible, patients must have one or more of the following:

  • Technology dependence (G-tube, tracheostomy, ventilator) or wheelchair dependence.
  • Two or more chronic conditions under active treatment
  • Ongoing management by four or more or more Washington University specialty providers

Complex Care Clinic patients must receive all of their specialty care through Washington University providers unless their medical needs cannot be met due to lack of specialty or procedural expertise.
